Agni Movie Review

Firefighters are true heroes who risk their lives to save others, but we rarely see movies dedicated to their bravery. Agni, now streaming on Prime Video, tries to fill that gap. While the effort is commendable, the execution could have been better. Let’s dive into it.

Storyline

The movie starts with a strong premise about firefighters and their heroic acts, but the story takes a fictional turn by adding a revenge plot. Instead of focusing on real-life fire incidents, the story revolves around a mysterious arsonist setting buildings on fire. The reason behind his actions and his backstory are revealed in the movie, but the revenge angle feels unnecessary and takes away from the core theme.

Visuals and Effects

Visually, Agni does a good job with its fire scenes. Some parts are filmed using real flames, while others use VFX, and overall, the fire looks very realistic. However, the movie misses a chance to make these scenes more gripping. For example, when firefighters are rescuing people from smoke, the shots could have been more dramatic to make us feel the tension and danger.

Acting Performances

The cast is a big highlight of the film. Divyenndu and Pratik Gandhi bring some light moments with their banter, and Jitendra Joshi delivers a powerful performance. The actors do a great job, but the emotional connection with the characters feels a bit weak, which makes it hard to fully connect with their struggles.

What Works

The movie succeeds in showing the bravery of firefighters and makes us realize that they deserve as much respect as soldiers. It’s also family-friendly, with no inappropriate language or vulgarity, making it a good watch for all age groups.

What Doesn’t Work

The predictable storyline and lack of emotional depth hold the movie back. The climax, while decent, doesn’t pack a punch, and the overall narrative feels a bit stretched.

Final Verdict

Agni is a decent attempt to showcase the lives of firefighters. It’s not perfect, but it’s worth watching to appreciate the courage of these unsung heroes.

Rating: 3/5
A good, family-friendly movie with a heartfelt message.
